Wenzhou Dalton Elementary School, founded in September 2017 by LIKEDA Education Technology Co. Ltd, is a full-time private school, operating under direct supervision of Wenzhou Education Bureau. Located at No.28 Yandang Middle Road, the school covers fourteen thousand square meters and has a capacity of thirty-six classes with twenty-five students in each.
The school combines the “Dalton Plan”, one of the four important education theories for elementary education, with the local “Study-Lab Program”. By embracing the values of “Freedom, Cooperation, Self-discipline and Responsibility”, Wenzhou Dalton Elementary School is committed to providing a comfortable and caring learning environment. Pupils here will be prepared for a globalized world and future, striving for excellence while enjoying an experience which they will cherish for a lifetime.

Adhering to “child-centered” concept, Dalton school is working hard on the whole person development of its pupils. Therefore, its campus has been designed to be caring and comfortable as home, enjoyable as wonderland. It is not only a school where its pupils can read and learn, but also a workshop that inspires creativity. Each child can find a place where they can learn, play and grow to realize their full potential.

Ms Bai Lili, the Head of the School is a highly revered teacher who has won the title of National Model Teacher and was awarded a grant from the State Council. The teaching and administrative staff consists of senior teachers, master teachers, teachers who have studied abroad, teachers with experience and expertise in all walks of occupations, and highly-qualified graduates from universities. Besides, the school has established Academic Steering Committee, inviting experts from home and abroad to mentor the young teachers and contribute to the development of the school.
With Child-Centered notion, teachers in Dalton are not only competent in their subjects, but also loving and caring, devoted to every child in school. Each class has been assigned with two class teachers, working together to manage class. In addition, tutorial system makes it possible for teachers to go beyond class boundaries. In Dalton, we respect differences in classroom and value individuality of each child. Thanks to our cooperative teachers, differentiated teaching is employed here to meet the need of each individual learner and lay foundation for their long-term development.
Foreign teachers not only teach English, but also cooperate with local teachers in other subjects such as Science, Arts, and PE. Apart from teaching, they are engaged in class management as class teacher and play an important role in creating an immersive English speaking atmosphere in school.

Wenzhou Dalton School is proud to observe the Ministry of Education’s central tenets of strengthening moral education and cultivating talent. We have built a progressive, modern curriculum with a strong sense of national identity. Combining education theories from home and abroad, we have developed courses in which we work hard to find common ground as well as maintain diversity. Elective courses are offered alongside compulsory lessons, allowing our students not only to reach the national standard but also realize their full potential. Rooted in curriculum developed by the school itself, we aim for the whole person development of each child, emphasizing core values and individual competencies.By creating a culture which integrates the domestic and the global, balances duty with choice, and emphasizes both the theoretical and practical, we feel confident that our students will carry Dalton’s central values of “Freedom, Cooperation, Self-discipline and Responsibility” with them for the rest of their lives.
我们的课堂 Our Class
In Wenzhou Dalton school, no bell-rings can be heard. Study is organized into groups and individual work and learning takes place in diverse elective and small classes. At Wenzhou Dalton Elementary school, the daily schedule consists of planned classes, snack sharing time, recess time, self-directed lunch time and Dalton Study Lab. An integration of mixed-ability classes and streamed classes, personalized time-tables, theme activities, leisure time, community services as well as global study programs enables students to learn and grow at their own pace, while teachers serve as facilitators and guides for the learning process.
Students at Dalton not only acquire knowledge in class but also develop their abilities in study lab. Here they are taught to summarize and sort out what they have learned in a day according to a list of tasks, including tidying up books and stationary, reviewing and reflecting on study skills, organizing resources and assessing learning outcomes. The goal is to develop their competence in independent study and self-control, and mold them into confident and self-disciplined learners.

We strongly believe that the ultimate goal of education should contribute to the whole person development of each individual. As individuality is valued in Dalton School, we have built our diverse, multi-angled evaluation system, which we keep updated to suit the changing of the time and meet the need of each student. It not only serves to promote the full development of each student，but also to improve our teachers’ skills. While we guarantee the bottom line of reaching the standard on national level and attach importance to performance evaluation, there is no limit of our learning and creativity. With our efforts, we hope to trigger the reform in education and make a difference so that both teachers and students will benefit from our evaluation system and live up to their full potential.
